John Everette Lutgen-Bernatz, 27, fatally shot in Mankato, MN

DailyKenn.com — John Everette Lutgen-Bernatz, 27, was fatally shot in Mankato, MN.

Dominic Scott Ellen, 41, was charged with murder.

According to the charges, during a dispute over money, Ellen told Lutgen-Bernatz that he "was going to have to die."

Ellen is also facing five additional felony charges: three for assault, one for making threats of violence, and one for possession of a firearm without a serial number.

According to the charges, a woman who identified herself as Lutgen-Bernatz’s girlfriend, said that Ellen had told her that her boyfriend "was going to have to die." She told the police that she heard a gunshot and saw that her boyfriend had been shot in the head. She also reported that Ellen then demanded money and ordered her to contact people she knew to obtain it.
